The Seventh Biocomposites Conference, Cologne builds on successful previous conferences: in 2015 more than 230 participants and 20 exhibitors were represented. 72nd Forest Products Society International Convention

The FPS International Convention(IC) is the premier event for professionals in the forest products industry. It brings together hundreds of scientists, design professionals, managers, decision makers, and others from academia, government, nonprofit, and industry sectors to discuss the state of forest products research and learn about innovations in the field. In 2018 it will be co-held in conjunction with TAPPI’s 2018 International Conference on Nanotechnology, with bonus content and networking opportunities for IC attendees.
The FPS IC is a showcase for ideas for development and advancing the viability of wood-based products. Topics will include wood based products for construction, energy, composites, as well current issues around harvesting, environment, education and marketing for the industry. Introduction to Wood Science and Forest Products

The Forest Products Society in conjunction with Mississippi State University is offering an Introduction to Wood Science and Forest Products course, scheduled for September 11 - 13, 2018, at Mississippi State University’s Department of Sustainable Bioproducts, Starkville, MS.
The three day course will feature sessions on the basics of wood and wood-based products in construction, wood and the environment, product properties, wood anatomy and other topics. The course is targeted to suppliers, consultants, claims agents and industry professionals seeking to understand trees, harvesting and how wood is processed into today’s products. Students will also discuss current issues in the forest products industry, along with green building and product testing.
Students will have the opportunity to practice the skills they learn through hands-on exercises and will be inspired by attending session in the state-of-the-art Forest Products and Wood Science Learning Center on the campus of Mississippi State University.
