Forest Products Journal

The Forest Products Journal is the source of information for industry leaders, researchers, teachers, students, and everyone interested in today’s forest products industry.

In addition to a timely feature article related to an issue of importance to the international forest products industry, peer-reviewed research articles, and a list of coming events, FPJ contains a variety of information including industry news, information on changes in codes, standards, and regulations, and reports on new or updated reference sources. Also included is an employment referral service section. Numerous job opportunities encompassing virtually every branch of the forest products industry are advertised. A Postions Wanted section is also available for those seeking employment. Society Members are entitled to two free consecutive positions wanted insertions.

The Forest Products Journal is published monthly with the exception of January/February and July/August, which are combined issues. Each month the complete Journal is posted, cover to cover, in electronic format on the FPS website for access by members, along with the issues from the preceding two months. Issues prior to these three posted Journals are archived in the Interactive Library. In addition, each month the full-color feature article is posted separately and can be viewed by members and nonmembers.

Article Types

The Forest Products Journal is well respected for publishing high-quality peer-reviewed technical research findings at the applied or practical level that reflect the current state of wood science and technology. Articles suitable as Technical Notes are brief notes (generally 1,200 words or less) that describe new or improved equipment or techniques; report on findings produced as by-products of major studies; or outline progress to date on long-term projects.
