The suggestion is made that repositories and centers should be established to house and foster more efficient use of published and unpublished technology developed on wood and wood adhesives. Unpublished research on 34 projects performed during the 1970s is reviewed as an example of potentially lost information that could be documented and retrieved in such repositories. The research data are grouped by process factors, preservative-treated veneer, fillers-extenders, modified adhesives, and veneer types (softwood and hardwoods).
