A technique is presented for simulating correlated lumber properties, which are not necessarily normally distributed, by using a transformation of the multivariate normal distribution. The method exactly preserves the probability distributions of each individual property and closely approximates the correlations among the properties. The procedure is illustrated using localized modulus of elasticity data.
