The rectangular (MSTR) and parallelogram (MSTP) test specimen configurations give different average shear strengths for an individual panel. This may result from the nonuniformity of the shear-stress distribution in MSTR specimens. MSTR results are not affected when the rate of loading is increased by a factor of five, nor when different operators perform the tests. Both MSTR and MSTP results are linearly correlated to internal bond, with MSTR having the strongest correlation.
