Kiln-Drying Treated Plywood

Kiln-drying schedules for 1/2-inch and 3/4-inch sheathing plywood treated with chromated copper arsenate (CCA) and 1/4-inch sanded plywood treated with a waterborne fire retardant, are developed. Results showed that drying times presently used in industry could be substantially reduced by using higher temperatures, provided that the minor increase in degrade is acceptable.
