Prospects for the Southern Pine Plywood Industry

Liquidation of overmature pine stands and continued development of assured supplies may raise the South’s output of plywood to 6 billion square feet by the middle 1970’s. Rapid development of processing complexes designed to utilize open-market stumpage may well push production to 8 billion feet later this decade.
