Moisture Changes with Different Relative Humidity Conditions in Plant Humidification Equipment

Three levels of relative humidity (50, 65, and 80 percent) were used to condition overdried samples of 1/8-inch and 1/4- inch-thick hardboard to a moisture content of 5 percent at 140?F. Only 80 percent relative humidity was effective in raising board moisture content to 5 percent rapidly. At this humidity level 4 hours was required for the 1/8-inch boards and 6 hours for the 1/4-inch boards.
