Finishing Wood Veneers and Pressboard to Close Tolerances with Coated Abrasives

Finishing tolerances of 0.002 inch for veneers and pressboard may be accomplished through the use of coated abrasives (36 grits and finer) spirally wound on a cast iron grinding roll. The machine described (Micro-grinder) ranges in widths from 12 to 80 inches but widths of 40 to 52 inches are standard.
