This paper describes the development of a more rapid test method for determining the durability of Type II (water resistant) hardwood plywood. The extent of delamination at the end of a fixed period of rapid wet-dry cycles at an increased temperature is the criteria. A new test specimen has also been developed that lends itself to automatic cycling controls, minimum man-hours, and still retains a sensitivity comparable to the present standard test.
