A comparison of the European standards and standard drafts indicates that the ideas behind them are to a great extent identical. Only the test methods of the plant control are sufficiently advanced to be regarded by a final standard. At present, the standard of quality requirements can list only the evaluating properties that belong by their nature to the plant control. Most of the properties important for technical application could be correlated by means of known statistical methods with one or more of the standard properties. There is, therefore, no valid argument suggesting a further delay of work on the standards.
