A simple magnetic agitator for disturbing an atmosphere or liquid to prevent stratification is described. The stirrer consists of a 1-3/8 inch long magnetized stirring bar wired to a circular polyethylene disc 1-1/4 inches in diameter. A magnetic stirring unit is placed below and in contact with the chamber floor to spin the magnetized bar. The apparatus is suitable for use in desiccators.
