It was found that the gage described in U.S. Forest Service Research Note FPS,-0102 could be easily reproduced by the following method. Draw the gage on a piece of paper with a 2H pencil. Reproduce it the number of times needed on a Xerox copier. Cut out resulting reproductions and glue to an 8-l/2 by 11 inch sheet of paper. Transfer the copies onto a “3M” 127 infrared projection transparency. This transfer was made using a 3M Thermo-Fax Copying Machine with a “buff-heat” setting. The result was the reproduction of the needed number of copies of the wood-glue failure gage on a sheet of transparent plastic.
