Pulpwood Logging Developments in Eastern Canada

This paper describes the improvements in pulpwood logging techniques and the increasing mechanization of logging. The advance in training of the labor force together with improved living conditions and higher pay is described in detail. Insecurity of land tenure retards sustained-yield silvicultural operations on government-owned timber lands.
