It is suggested that the method of the National Door Manufacturers’ Assn. for the evaluation of millwork preservatives may be too favorable to the preservative, and a modified procedure is described which more nearly approaches practical application. All the preservatives tested, which include phenyl, mercury oleate, pentachlorophenol, and combinations of these and other fungicides, were effective when evaluated according to the NDMA method.
