Valuation of Ponderosa Pine Stumpage By Use of Tree Grades

An elementary method is presented for determining the selling value of lumber produced from six grades of ponderosa pine trees. Tree grades are based on very broad guidelines of age, size limits, and the amount of lumber normally produced by grade. By combining an analysis of cruise data and current prices, the amount of dollar income from a particular stand of trees can be estimated.
