A Dual Linear Micrometer

A special instrument was designed and constructed for making linear measurements. The micrometer embodies a number of features. It has provision for two mutually independent measuring systems, each with a readability of 0.001 mm. It is able to accumulate measurements up to 150 cm. A flexible optical system for the interchange of a variety of microscopes is contained within it. The micrometer is suitable for construction in the average university machine shop.
