A GUIDE TO USEFUL WOODS OF THE WORLD

Since 1947, the International Wood Collectors Society (IWCS), a not-for-profit
association, has published the journal World of Wood, an outstanding source of data on woods of the world as well as a chronicle of the activities of the IWCS. In 1976, the World of Wood began featuring a column entitled Wood of the Month, which provided readers with numerous interesting facts about the wood species being highlighted, including its geographic range, woodworking properties, uses and supplies. In 1994, data on 201 woods that had been featured in Wood of the Month columns were gathered and published in the first edition of A Guide to Useful Woods of the World.
