A Slide-Hammer for Pulling Plugs in Fumigated Transmission Poles

Internal decay of transmission poles is controlled by placing volatile fungitoxicants in holes which are plugged with treated dowels. The poles are retreated at 10-year or longer intervals. This slide-hammer plug puller was developed to facilitate removal of the plugs. A hole is drilled in the plug, the puller is screwed into the hole, and the slide-hammer provides the force to remove the plug.
