A 200-board-foot capacity demonstration dry kiln has been constructed with a 2 by 4 studding and plywood shell. The chamber is made vapor proof by lining with copper sheeting, and heat loss is at a minimum due to heavy insulation. Internal equipment consists of two 14-inch diameter fans and three sets of separately controlled steam coils. Dry bulb temperature range is from 100 to 230?F and the wet bulb may be controlled to 212 f 2?F. Circulation rate is varied by using step pulleys. Cost is about $2,000.
