A system for the continuous determination of weight, internal pressure, and temperature of logs in wood preservation research is discussed. Sections of the paper are devoted to weight and pressure transducers, temperature measurements by thermocouples, and data recording equipment. The necessary requirements for weight and pressure transducers in treating environments are given, together with the specifications of the transducers which had been used. Methods are given for measuring internal log pressures and temperatures. Schematic diagrams include a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) treating pilot plant used in the research, weight transducer circuit diagram, and data readout station.
