Applied drying technology, 1988 to 1993

This paper, the third in a series covering applied drying from 1971 to the present, reviews research and technical articles describing fundamental and applied research on lumber drying published between 1988 and 1993. Research in seven subject areas is summarized: general articles, predrying treatments, drying techniques and equipment, schedules, process control, energy, and post- drying. Several new texts have appeared, and considerable work has been published concerning quality control at the dry kiln, sorting, and redrying treated lumber.
