A series of dielectric heating tests vas carried out with chromated copper arsenate (CCA-C) commercially treated western hemlock lumber placed within a fixed radio-frequency electromagnetic field. The results showed that hexavalent chromium could become completely fixed within 5 hours when the specimens were heated at temperature levels of 110?C without visible adverse effects on the quality of lumber.
