Compressive Strength of One- and Two-Ply Laminated Timbers

Two-ply laminated timbers were significantly stronger than single-ply lumber in both average and near-minimum compressive strength. Average stiffnesses of one- and two-ply timbers were essentially equal. Results suggest that present methods of predicting near-minimum compressive strength of two-ply timbers are conservative.
