Relations between drying resistance and moisture content were found for 4/4-, 6/4-, and 8/4-inch green Douglas-fir heartwood subjected to mild and severe drying schedules. These relations were curvilinear and varied with lumber thickness. Drying resistance was higher for thicker lumber than for thinner. lumber. For each thickness, drying resistances under the mild and the severe schedules were similar.
