Event Recorder for Long-Term Tests

A 320-channel event recording system for long-term testing which was built for less than $2,000 is described. The system function is to detect and identify the failure of a test specimen, and to record the time of failure and specimen number. It can be adapted to a variety of event-recording tests where a switch contact opening signals the required event.
