The flexural properties of glued laminated dimension lumber manufactured from small-diameter lodgepole pine trees were evaluated. The number of laminae per beam was varied to determine the effect of this factor on the bending properties of the beams; no effect was found. Allowable unit values estimated from the test data indicated that the beams exceeded most of the requirements for the Select Structural grade for all softwood species except the Douglas-fir South and the Douglas-fir-Larch groups.
