Prepared under the auspices of the FPRS, Wood Drying Division, this review of 143 articles presents a current bibliography of new developments in the field of wood drying. In the Western States, the evolution of high temperature drying from research laboratory to industrial installation is nearly complete. High-frequency drying received considerable attention in Canada, Germany, and the Soviet Union. There appears to be a general decrease in interest in drying research in the United States and also in dry-kiln operator education. The bibliography covers air-drying, forced air-drying, kiln-drying, high-temperature drying, special methods, veneer and particle drying, drying degrade, wood-moisture relations, and general wood drying subjects.
