Integrated utilization of forest resources requires products and processes which can effectively utilize the total output of a forest on a sustained yield basis. Development of products which use low-grade or waste wood is necessary to prevent waste. Capital investment must be consistent with economic return. Plant size and raw material requirements should be flexible enough to permit installations suitable for local conditions. Fiberboard and wood sugar industries appear to have promise for integrated utilization.
