Presents actual applications, such as for saws, router bits, jointer heads, and moulder heads, of tungsten carbide tools in the woodworking industry, with emphasis on the care and maintenance problems inherent in the operation of such tools. It is noted that much of the engineering as well as operating practices used in woodworking have been borrowed from the extensive pioneer work done in the metalworking industry. Specific examples of unusual benefits derived from the operation of tungsten carbide tools in woodworking are given.
