Mechanical properties of polymer-impregnated sugar maple

Untreated sugar maple and sugar maple vinyl wood polymer composite (WPC) samples were statically tested in tension, compression, and bending. WPC mechanical properties were increased compared to untreated wood and moisture tended to have less effect on the WPC than on untreated wood.
