Method for Measuring Resin Penetration Into Wood

Knowledge of the depth of penetration of resin adhesives into wood may be needed in studying the properties of wood- adhesive joints. A method for measuring penetration depth is described. It involves the addition of metabromo phenol to the resin, removing thin sections near the glue joint after curing, radiation of the sections, and counting of gamma ray emissions.
