Milling Redwood Bark

Redwood bark fiber was studied as a furnish for insulation board as far back as 1929. Trials since then with disc refiners, hammermills, attrition mills, screw presses, and defibrators are described. There is sufficient evidence of potential end uses for redwood bark. This fact, coupled with the increasing fund of knowledge on the technology of processing bark, in conjunction with new equipment developments, warrants serious and active commercial interest.
