Moisture Content of Building Structural Members

The moisture content of building structural members vary with the season, position of the wood, usage, and the amount of heat in the building. The highest moisture content found was in bottom plates on concrete slabs. Building paper used between these plates and the slabs was not an efficient moisture barrier.
