The species correction factors during moisture content measurement of jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril), mandioquiera (Qualea paraensis), quarubarana (Erisma uncinatum), and quarubatinga (Vochysia lehmanii) were determined for dielectric- and resistance-type moisture meters. When using the dielectric-type moisture meter, the correction factors for mandioquiera and quarubarana range from -3.2 to -1.0 and from -3.0 to -1.3, respectively. For jatoba and quarubatinga, the average correction factors of -4.6 and 0.4, respectively, may be used over the full experimental dielectric meter reading range. When using the resistance-type moisture meter, the correction factors for quarubarana and quarubatinga range from 0.6 to -0.9 and from 0.0 to -1.8, respectively. For jatoba and mandioquiera, the average correction factors of 0.8 and 0.3, respectively, may be used over the full experimental resistance meter reading range.
