Transverse and longitudinal forced vibrations at the fundamental resonant frequencies were used to determine the dynamic moduli of elasticity in 2 by 2 by 30 inch wood samples at moisture contents from 6 to 12 percent. The dynamic moduli by transverse vibrations averaged about 10 percent higher than the static bending moduli, and 10 percent lower than the dynamic moduli obtained by longitudinal vibrations.
