Procedure for Evaluating the Effect of Heartwood Extractives on Decay Resistance

A test procedure for evaluating the fungistatic properties of wood extractives is introduced. The test employs the use of ground wood for substrate and the protective effect is measured by respirometric technique. The test procedures are described and results are provided.
