Small blocks of Parana Pine (Araucaria angustifolia) 6x23x70mm were treated in laboratory with cashewnut shell oil using ethanol as solvent. Retention levels used were 50, 100 and 140 kilograms of oil per cubic meter of wood. The treated blocks, four pairs per retention level, were exposed to the attack of drywood termites, Cryptotermes brevis, for 45 days. Except for one pair of the 50 kg/m3 group, all treated blocks showed no survivals at the end of the test period, while for the control group the average survival was 66 percent.
