Study was made of the effect on particle board properties of amount of resin, form of resin, and effect of adding resin before and after grinding. Another phase involved an evaluation of board properties when the raw material was ground at 16 percent moisture content and 40 to 50 percent moisture content. In general, increasing resin content from 4 to 6 percent improved board properties; however, water absorption showed no significant difference. In general, boards with liquid resin showed superiority in all board properties except resistance to water absorption, in which boards with powdered resin excelled. Boards with resin applied after grinding were superior in all properties except linear expansion. Time of application had no effect on linear expansion.
