The calculations to determine the static modulus of elasticity and the modulus of rupture of particleboard are laborious. Nomographs were constructed after running the static bending test on specimens of the standard size recommended by ASTM standard method D-1037 and by the National Particle Board Association Standard and the Commercial Standard and using the normal formulas for MOE and MOR. By using these nomographs, approximate MOE and MOR values can be obtained in a matter of seconds after running the Instron Test. The nomographs are presented and methods of use outlined.
