Technique for Isolating Flakes from the Pressed Mat

A technique for removing flakes from the pressed mat using thin Teflon sheets was developed. Investigation showed that the use of Teflon does not disturb the mechanisms of board manufacture. The modulus of rupture and modulus of elasticity of flakes pressed with and without the use of Teflon were statistically similar. In addition, the core temperature of flakeboard mats pressed without Teflon did not differ from that of mats pressed with Teflon.
