Describes a batch process utilizing either green or dry chips, with chip preparation similar to other processes. The mat is formed in a frame which remains around the mat until after the prepressing operation. Combination of high frequency and hot plate press is used for curing. Face veneers are applied at the time of manufacture. Owing to the 3 percent resin content of the glue, the combustibility of this board is less than that of natural wood. For a plant capacity of 5,000 tons a year based on an 8-hour-work day, the capacity in doors per year will be approximately 132,000.
