The influence of moisture content on the flexural strength of styrene-polymerized wood

Eastern white pine (Pinus strobus L.) and sugar maple (Acer saccharum Marsh.) were impregnated and polymerized with a vinyl monomer and tested for flexural strength in the ovendried and air-dried conditions. The polymer had greater effect on the strength of the air-dried maple than on the air-dried pine.
