Urea resin glues are the most adaptable and economical used in the radio frequency field. Reducing the amount of catalyst below manufacturer’s suggestions reduces pot life. Increasing the amount of catalyst will increase cure speed. Slow, laboratory-cured glue lines will be slow in field gluing. Salts in the glue mix make the glue line more receptive and faster curing. Excessive glue spread may cause current to by-pass glue in joint and results in undercuring. Lumber moisture content should be uniform and 8-12 percent for good production.
