Wedge-seal panel joint construction in a prefabricated dry-kiln eliminates all bolts, rivets, or panel sheet joints exposed to inside kiln conditions. When the joint is assembled and tightened, it seals itself and prevents air and vapor leakage from the kiln-drying compartment. The regular prefabricated model is furnished for either 6 or 8 foot wide loads 11 feet high. Normally, the length starts at about 18 feet and increases in steps of 3 feet 6 inches. They can be built as long as 120 feet. Advantages claimed for the pre-fabricated kiln include better insulated roof and walls resulting in 50 percent less heat loss, a tight building structure which prevents leakage and heat loss, easily installed foundations and elimination of outside labor. Erection is fast. Non-corrosive materials are used throughout, and the entire kiln building and equipment are demountable and flexible and can be moved to a new location later if found necessary.
