The effect of storage after kiln-drying on the success of treatment with chromated copper arsenate (full-cell process) was investigated on lumber of Douglas-fir, mountain hemlock, and five species of hem-fir. Treatment of some species appeared to improve slightly after 1 month of storage, but the differences declined with additional storage. The results suggest that storage as long as 6 months after drying does not adversely affect subsequent preservative treatment.
