Use Development for Particleboard

The mechanical and physical properties of both flat-platen and extruded particleboard, their range and importance in the development of new uses is discussed. Several problem areas associated with the development of standards and specifications are discussed, particularly as they pertain to the classification of extruded and flat-platen particleboard under a single specification. Use for extruded particleboard is limited primarily to core stock, whereas flat-platen particleboard has much broader use potential because its properties are somewhat more controllable.
