Young’s Modulus of Elasticity of Small Wood Beams By Dynamic Measurements

The dynamic modulus of elasticity of small beams was determined by sonic vibration technique. Vibrations were created by audio-oscillation at lowest resonant frequencies. Specimens were vibrated transversely. Test results indicate that this method can determine MOE at a wide range of moisture contents, permitting latitude in making repeated measurements nondestructively.
